Japanese banks sticking with Adani as Jefferies, Barclays review ties :ET

ET at COP29: After 9 years of debate, global carbon trading deal finalised :-ET

 


BAKU:-A resolution emerged following nine years of negotiations, after talks broke down in Dubai last year. International carbon trading-which refers to clauses in the Paris Agreement that provide for country-to-country trading, UN-monitored international carbon market and non-market mechanisms-had got an early boost in Baku with countries adopting standards on Day One. Carbon trading is referred to in UN climate talks as "Article 6".

Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire. The ceasefire starts Wednesday. The US and France helped broker the deal. Thousands died in the conflict. The conflict started after last year's Gaza war. Israel will withdraw troops over two months. Lebanon's army will take over border areas. The goal is to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding.

 The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the PAN 2.0 initiative with a Rs 1,435 crore allocation to overhaul the PAN/TAN system. The upgrade includes a QR code feature and improved digital services. NRIs must apply for PAN with specific documents. Existing PAN cards remain valid, but taxpayers can opt for the new QR code version at no extra cost.


Vodafone Idea shares zoom 18% on in-principle Cabinet nod for bank guarantee waiver :-ET

 Idea Share Price: Vodafone Idea's shares surged 18% after the Indian government waived bank guarantees for past spectrum purchases. This move significantly benefits Vi, which faced a Rs 24,700 crore bank guarantee burden. While Airtel and Jio also benefit, their obligations are considerably smaller. Vi's financial struggles prompted the waiver request, aiming to improve its credit access.

India starts exporting Pinaka weapon systems to Armenia :-ET

 


India has commenced supplying Armenia with the indigenously developed Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers. This agreement, finalized after two years of negotiations, positions Armenia among India's top three arms importers. The Pinaka system, capable of striking targets over 80 kilometers away, has garnered interest from Southeast Asia and Europe, including France.

I am back alive -Thanks to the team of Doctors at MAX Hospital Gurugram-INDIA

 Dear Friends,

Greetings to all the readers of my informative non commercial blog. I could not post anything for the last three months as I got hospitalized with almost near death like situation due to an acute nephrology problem. Thanks to my son and daughter in law who came back to India after two years assignment of EY at Wroclaw Poland and being in India with me could put me in MAX Hospital Gurugram India which timely saved my life.
