In what can be seen as a massive diplomatic victory for India, terrorist Masood Azhar has been listed as a global terrorist by the UN Security Council.
China today lifted its hold on the listing of Jaish-e-Mohammad chief, Masood Azhar, as a global terrorist by the United Nations. China had placed a "technical hold" on a proposal initiated by the U.S., the U.K, and France after the Pulwama attack in February this year.
China's decision can largely be seen as an outcome of international pressure to blacklist the Pakistan-based terror organisation’s head. The U.S., supported by France and the U.K., moved a draft resolution directly in the U.N. Security Council to blacklist the Pakistan-based terror organisation’s head.
