India's retail inflation eases marginally to 11-month low of 4.83 per cent in April :-ET

India's retail inflation eased marginally to hit 11-month low of 4.83 per cent on an annual basis in April as against 4.85 per cent in the previous month, the government data showed on Monday. A Reuters poll of 44 economists had estimated the number to come down to 4.80 per cent.

The number has remained within the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) tolerance band of 2-6 per cent.The inflation in the food basket grew at 8.7 per cent in April, up from 8.52 per cent in March, as per the National Statistical Office (NSO) data.
