BUDDHAM SARANAM GACCHAMI MANTRA MEANING – THE THREE JEWELS OF BUDDHISM

"Buddham saranam gacchami
Dhammam saranam gacchami
Sangham saranam gacchami.”

The Three Jewels Of Buddhism mantra translation:

”I go for refuge in knowledge,
I go for refuge in teachings,
I go for refuge in the community.”

„I go to the Buddha for refuge.
I go to the Dhamma for refuge.
I go to the Sangha for refuge.”
Mahayana version:
”I take refuge in the Buddha, wishing for all sentient beings to understand the great way and make the greatest vow.
I take refuge in the Dharma, wishing for all sentient beings to deeply delve into the Sutra Pitaka, gaining an ocean of knowledge.
I take refuge in the Sangha, wishing all sentient beings to lead the congregation in friendship and harmony, entirely without obstruction.”

Mantra chanting benefits:

In this chant, ”Buddham” means the supreme intellect within you which leads you with the discrimination of wrong and right. Right – that makes your life noble and happy leading the seeker to the state of supreme bliss. This aspect also embodies all the aspects that make others – the entire inanimate and animate world happy. Live harmoniously and peacefully, and let others live, as in the creation, everyone has every right to lead a dharmic and righteous life.
