Hack:
- Jaganmohan Reddy, leader of Opposition in the AP Legislative Assembly, has issued a strong statement over the Tirupati controversy
- 'Chandrababu’s lust for money and power is evident,' said Jaganmohan Reddy
After former head priest of Tirupati temple, AV Ramana Dikshitulu, levelled damaging charges against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Jaganmohan Reddy, leader of Opposition in the AP Legislative Assembly, has said:
“Chandrababu’s lust for money and power is evident.”
Reacting to the ex-head priest’s sensational allegations against the AP CM, Reddy said,
“Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam (TTD) has become an epicentre of corruption, with continuous disruption of tenets and practises in Agama Shastra. The state is resorting to take the wrath on priests who questions the policies of the Government,” said Jaganmohan.
“The recent issue of Chief priest in Tirumala is a case in point where Chandra Babu's lust for money and power is evident. As a mark of legacy, the "Anuvanshik sevakulu" have right to serve the lord till their age and energy permits them. As there are no pay scale or retirement benefits accrued to these ‘Anavamsika Sevakulu’, there is no purpose of fixing a retirement age for these priests as they don't come under regular employees. In the history of TTD, no government or leaders have ever resorted to such gross actions,” he added.
Pitching YSRCP to the people of the state, Reddy said if YSRCP government is formed, it will ensure priests’ retirement policy will be squashed.
“With god's grace and blessings of people of AP, if YSRCP government is formed, we will ensure that the priests retirement policy will be squashed. We will revoke all the decisions made by CM Naidu in this context,” he said.
Earlier, while speaking exclusively to Republic TV, the former priest of the temple, AV Ramana Dikshitulu, made a stunning series of allegations against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the men appointed by him to manage the temple.
Ramana Dikshitulu said that priceless ornaments and precious diamonds which were donated by devotees to Lord Venkateshwara have disappeared. He has further gone ahead and said that it is the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, along with the Temple authorities (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams or TTD), who have been looting away the jewels.
