Well the videos that are running the rounds are not recent rather old videos from gilgit baltistan province known as northern areas by Pakistan. Nothing as of now (as of writing this answer on 5 sep 2019) is happening in POK, don't let news channels fool you- a small protest of 50–100 people here and there is not much. Unlike India, in POK /northern areas Pakistan has brutal control over media/ newspapers/ influencers. (Edit : As of mid September certain videos have come from areas close to loc in POK, read about them further in the answer). They had followed an iron hand policy in these areas since very long resulting in quashing of any resistance that may have started and nothing comes out, rather people just mysteriously diasappear. They don't have NDTV's, wire's, scrolls who would have carried out such news articles and human right drama. India's policy in kashmir had been very lazy since beginning and no clear stand of successive governments. In POK a dummy govt is elected by Pak army generals. The prime minister of so called azad Kashmir has less powers even than that of a beaurocrat (like an IAS in india) who is sent by Islamabad and control everything.
We are lazy people- it took us 70 yrs to make J&K into two administrative regions. Kashmir and laddakh. Pakistan did this long ago in northern frontier/province (much of which is now sold off to china cpec) and POK thus localising their part of conflict. Pakistan very conviniently is crying about unilateral action/ human rights abuse etc in kashmir but forgets what they and china did to Kashmir years ago. Check out Pakistan map below- see how tiny azad Kashmir is and how cleverly/silently they have changed the whole geography. And our side of kashmir wants azadi but have no idea what to do with it even if they achieve it in some alternate universe. Combined POK and Indian Kashmir (minus Jammu, gilgit, ladhakh) is now no more than 500*500 sq km area.
I would like to ask all kashmiris and especially all the geelanis, Abdullahs muftis - where is the Kashmir and what Kashmir are you exactly fighting for? Below is a map of CPEC by your favorite country Pakistan, they have already annexed gilgit, azzad Kashmir is just a farce, many will not believe me check out official cpec website.
Paksitan is now afraid as it's military is now feeling the heat/ anger of their own people. I think it's actually good for india, that Imran Khan is running here and there telling people about Kashmir as now international community is getting to know what happened in kashmir- the UN resolutions, their and china 's illegal occupation of kashmir. We should stay put and let Pakistan's economy bleed and die it's natural death.
Instead we should focus on balochistan/sindh. Freedom struggle is very real there. Instead of proxy support Indian govt should go all out offensive to support their cause. Help make a Balochi govt in exile in India and invite all BLA leaders to come to India. If we do this Pakistan generals will literally pi** their pants off. Edit 1- 15 sep 2019: I am putting forth some more information as things have been progressing. There are multiple videos doing the rounds and if you think for a moment, there are 2 versions which seems to come out. Of course one is Indian news media and then you have Pakistani version. And if you follow events closely there is also a 3rd version i.e the people of POK. The paki version needs to be examined though and I have tried my best to explain my thoughts. You guys be the best judge.

It's a 6 min video clearly showing desperation of people and they are seen condemning AJK police of violence. Some parts of the video are edited out and does not show parts where the people say that they want India and Pakistan both to get out of kashmir (well nobody is leaving, even if there is a war more kashmiris would die than the soldiers of the two country if that is what kashmiris want). The video below is from 2015. Pakistan clearly seems to loose the plot in kashmir but are now trying to spin it to a Kashmir total freedom movement as they are struck in catch 22 situation. How? will explain after these videos.
In the video below the kashmiri gentleman seems to compare the Kashmir situation to Berlin Wall and wants to cross LOC and break the wall. I feel so amused to see this kashmiri even knows about Berlin wall.
It is clearly another attempt by Pakistani handlers at internationalizing Kashmir. They are playing a dirty game, pushing some sections of POK to march towards LOC and projecting themselves as stopping anti India protests therby moving one more propoganda against India. As there is no violence in Indian Kashmir they need to show something to the world before UN meeting in October.
But Pakistan seems to be in catch 22 situation- they cannot fully annex Kashmir- AJK (legally India has instrument of annexation for whole of kashmir), the reason they cannot go to ICJ nor they have the capability or financial resources to do that. And on the other side they cannot let go of kashmir because Kashmir is their jugular vein. This jugular vein thing is all farce and the reason they will not let go is simply strategic - firstly it serves their military complex and secondly Chinese cpec runs through it. If kashmir is Pakistan's proxy then Pakistan is china's proxy. The only country which will bail out Pakistan once Pakistan goes bancrupt, it will happen in 2020. Be very clear as an Indian, China is not your friend. Stakes are very big here for india, china, US and Russia somewhat. Europe and US does not want china access to central Asia/middle east through OBOR/cpec. If India control whole Kashmir then we could checkmate china and it's access to pakistan and hence middle east. And the other front is afghanistan. If a friendly US/Indian govt is in Afghanistan then that would checkmate china’s access to central Asia as well.
A new order is being formed in asia. US India alliance is getting stronger by the day. Pakistan is moving away from the US which is very evident and that is why they are afraid today. Imran now seems to play the bogey of victim card now, well they have literally tried everything in their playbook. And it is not going to be easy going for India as welland India needs to play it's cards right.
Everything that has happened in the last few months is connected if you look at a bigger picture - US’s trade war with China, Hong Kong protests (why at this time only), then India suddenly abbrogating 370. Us’s aid to pakistan getting cancelled, Pakistan is in FATF greylist and very soon will be blacklisted in October, US cancelling talks with Taliban in september another setback to pakistan, Imran Khan going to Russia and giving interview to RT today and condemning America for their jihadi problems. And yesterday bombing of Saudi aramco and pompeo blaming iran (read about iran-Saudi tensions). If India is a party to the us-Afghan peace deal and India has access to Afghanistan through Kashmir then US would not need pakistan anymore (this is what fears pakistan). Big strategic changes are happening behind doors it's just a matter of reading between the lines. I just hope India plays it's cards well and use this opportunity to it's advantage. Only time will tell how things pan out.
But for kashmiris I hope they understand and look at the bigger picture. Do they want to be like Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen or do they want to be like Sikkim (Sikkim joined Indian union in 1975). Well atleast kashmiris have somethings in common to rest of Indians. But Sikkim is altogether a different set of people but intelligent progressive people and yet they chose to unify. Pakistan never cared about kashmiris. A country who killed its own people in bangladesh and continues to do so in gilgit, balochistan, KPK can never be true to kashmiris. I don't know how many kashmiris understand this but it is a reality. And I think Indians should now stop pleasing kashmiris rehna hai to raho warna dekhlo Bhai apna, kargil, Jammu, leh will still be with india. Kashmir dekh lo upar wali 1st picture mein kitna h reh gaya hai.
