NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea on Thursday appointed former NPCI executive Mathan Babu Kasilingam as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Data Privacy Officer.
Kasilingam, who served a three-year stint at NPCI as CISO of the cybersecurity division, replaces Amit Pradhan who used to lead cybersecurity of the telco.
In his new role, Kasilingam will be responsible for cybersecurity, digital security entities, data privacy norm compliances, and other compliance activities at the telco.
Kasilingam has over 16 years of experience in the cybersecurity domain. He has worked with companies like HDFC Bank, Symantec, amongst others.
This comes after India's third-largest telco appointed Jagbir Singh as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), who took over from Vishant last year in November.
In another top-level appointment, the telco had also named Manish Sansi as the new Chief Legal Officer. Sansi took on the role of a Chief Legal Officer following Kumar Das’ resignation.
