A Group Of Delhi Sikhs Rescued A 74-Yr-Old Oxford Graduate Who Was Left On The Streets To Live

While our values and culture teach us to take care of our parents in their old age, just like they took care of us when we are young, today's reality is far from this mirage. Old age homes are brimming with parents who are abandoned by their kids. Rich NRI children are dropping off their ailing parents because they don't want to curb their own freedom.

The story of Raja Singh Phull, a 74-year-old Oxford graduate, who was living on the streets of Delhi is also similar, except, he was fighting his own battle. One could spot him outside the VFS visa center in CP, Delhi, where he helped people fill their visa forms and tried to earn his living. On days when he had nothing, he ate 'langar'  at Bangla Sahib. However, the man refused to beg for a living. His story went viral after an FB post narrated his story.
Soon the post reached all the right doors and a group of Sikhs who run an old age home rescued him. He was given a roof to stay and was welcomed with open arms to help with anything he wanted.

Such is the power of social media when used with a force of positivity. One single tweet, one FB post can change someone's life. So the next time you witness a situation which needs your help, replace that IPL status you usually write with something that could help a soul. We are all humans and bound to help each other.
