Your provident fund
claims will now be processed within 5 days if you apply online and have your
Aadhaar number seeded with the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
In a communication to
all field offices, the Central Provident Fund Commissioner, V P Joy has
directed that online claims should be settled within 5 days to encourage
Aadhaar seeding by members.
“For encouraging
Aadhaar seeding, priority needs to be given to online claims. Therefore, all
field office are advised to settle online claims within 5 days. Efforts shall
be expedited to get the Aadhaar of all members verified early so that members
are able to avail this facility,” Joy has said in a communication last week.
The process of online
submission of claims for availing PF withdrawal benefits (Form-19), Pension
(Form 10C) and PF Part Withdrawals (Form 31) does away with the employer’s
intervention in the process of claims. The claim should be submitted online
through Composite Claim Forms (Aadhaar) for availing the benefit.
To enable submission
of online claims based on CCF (Aadhaar), the EPFO has recently launched a new
facility in the employees’ Member Interface of Unified Portal for the
employees/members.
For online submission
of claims, members are required to complete e-KYC on the Unified Portal for
submitting their claims through online mode and such claims will be available
in the field office application software for processing without routing the
same through their employers.
For online submission
of claims forms, the facility would be available only to those PF members who
have seeded their KYC (Aadhaar number and bank details) against the UAN which
have further been verified digitally by the employer and also from the UID
database, and service details are available on the Unified Portal.
Thus, the claims on
the member interface must satisfy the following conditions:
--It should have an
activated Universal Account Number (UAN)
--Aadhaar should be
seeded and verified
--Bank details have to
be seeded
--OTP based e-KYC from
UIDAI must be done by the member on the portal before submitting the claim
