NICAI Updates; 1. Central Board of Direct Taxes has enabled non-residents who do not have a PAN to e-file Form 10F on the income tax portal by creating an account without the requirement of first obtaining a PAN. 2. The gross GST revenue collected in the month of September, 2023 is ₹1,62,712 crore out of which : CGST is ₹29,818 crore, SGST is ₹37,657 crore, IGST is ₹83,623 crore (including ₹41,145 crore collected on import of goods) and cess is ₹11,613 crore (including ₹881 crore collected on import of goods). 3. The GST Council is expected to review progress in anti-profiteering matters in its meeting today. The Council will be apprised of the performance report of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for the April-June quarter (first quarter, or Q1) of the current financial year (2023-24). 4. Union excise duty collection dropped 18 percent in August year-on-year at a time when the overall central tax kitty rose about 94 percent before devolution to the states. It declined to ₹23,576 crore in August this year compared to ₹28,816 crore in the same month a year ago. 5. Central Board of Indirect taxes and Customs had issued Notification No. 04/2023-Integrated Tax dated September 29, 2023 regarding Seeks to provide Simplified registration Scheme for overseas suppliers of online money gaming. 6. Reserve Bank of India on October 5 said that people can claim unclaimed deposits of 23 additional banks on the Unclaimed Deposits - Gateway to Access inforMation (UDGAM) portal.
